Home town soccer team wins promotion
AMS Neve Ltd, based in Burnley, UK, congratulates its home town soccer team, Burnley FC, on promotion to UK football’s highest division, the Premier League. Burnley won a play-off at Wembley Stadium on May 25 to win its place, and was rewarded with an open-topped bus tour through the thronging streets of its home town. The club can now look forward to competing with such household names as Manchester Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool in the next UK domestic season.
That won’t be such a daunting prospect for the ‘Clarets’ – the nickname comes from the team’s claret and blue strip – as it may seem. As one of the football league’s founding members, it has already won nearly every honour in the UK game. And in the past season alone, Burnley beat Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham and West Bromwich Albion – all Premiership clubs – in knock out competitions.
In the coming season we look forward to seeing the team reproduce that form to put an extra spring in the step of the many Burnley supporters among our staff at AMS Neve.
