DFC Gemini helps Paa to commercial and critical success

24 February 2010

Paa’s lead character – a 13-year old with advanced progeria

Socially aware drama wins at box office and awards ceremonies

Despite its challenging subject matter – the central character being a 13 year old boy with progeria, a disorder causing radically accelerated ageing and premature death – the Hindi film Paa has been a massive commercial success. It achieved Bollywood’s coveted super-hit status (measured by box office returns) soon after release, and a follow-up, provisionally titled Maa, is already planned.

Less surprisingly, for a movie made by and starring some of the greats of Indian cinema, Paa has also been a hit with the critics, and has won a string of Filmfare and Star Screen awards and nominations. The acclaimed soundtrack was mixed on the AMS Neve DFC Gemini at Future Works, Mumbai, India’s premier dubbing stage.
