Future assured for FutureProof

FutureProof’s new single, mastered at Hackenbacker, is available from iTunes

Hackenbacker chosen to give professional polish to debut release

London-based FutureProof have been building a steady following across the UK during the past 12 months, refining their direction as a ‘non-manufactured’ pop act. And with the principal personnel settled as Jonny Wedge (vocals), Kiran Marshall (guitars/production) and Charles Leftwich (keys/production), they also attracted record and management company interest both at home and from Europe.

Signing to B-Unique Management they were invited to Malmö, Sweden, to begin recording with the producer Anderz Wrethov. That in turn led to label interest from Scott Brothman, who offered the trio a joint deal with Bassjar Productions (an investment label) and Lab Records, whose acts inclue Hellogoodbye, Not Advised and Pegasus Bridge.

The result was that the band were able to book into Hackenbacker Studios in Soho, London, for final mixing and mastering, with Nigel Heath – whose previous credits include Take That and Backstreet Boys – and Alexander Fielding at the controls of the AMS Neve MMC in Studio One.

‘They are knocked out by some of the things we’ve been doing on the MMC,’ comments Heath, who adds that, ‘It always reflects well on the actual “sonic” side of things if musos are happy.’ And a glance at the band’s tweetings is enough to show how delighted they are with the result.

The first fruits of the recording sessions – One More Chance – is available from iTunes, with a video posted on the band’s website. In Europe, FutureProof is about to release Party Hard (featuring Anderz Wrethov as guest vocalist) while the follow-up in the UK is Maniac, featuring  the rapper Kayne Raime.
