FutureWorks CEO senses another winner
Gaurav Gupta, CEO of Futureworks Media, Mumbai, has tipped Kaminey, released in mid August 2009, to repeat the success of 2008’s multiple award-winning Jodhaa Akbar. Kaminey (translation: Rascals), is the story of twin brothers who are identical in looks but opposite in character. Despite their mutual antipathy, they find themselves drawn together by external circumstances.
Premixing for the film was on the DFC Gemini at FutureWorks Anderi, while final mixing took place on the DFC at FutureWorks Rajkamal, with Sreejesh Nair as re-recording engineer.
‘Jodhaa Akbar swept all the Bollywood awards this season,’ commented Gupta. ‘I have a similar feeling about this film.’
Starring Shahid Kapoor (who plays both twins) with Priyanka Chopra as the love interest, Kaminey was produced for UTV Motion Pictures by Ronnie Screwvala, who was also co-producer of Jodhaa Akbar. Direction was by the award-winning Vishal Bharadwaj, who also wrote the screenplay and music score.
