For Olsen Involtini, Neve is ‘just right’!

3rd August 2016

Olsen Involtini is a recording and mixing engineer from Germany, currently working with bands such as Rammstein, Emigrate, SeeeD, Motörhead and Die Fantastischen Vier – to name a few!

Olsen’s mixing room is based in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the “Rock ‘n Roll area” of Berlin. “I’m using ProTools and have a 28/4/2 Big by Langley Desk in my studio. The Neve 33609 is my favourite Sum-Compressor, especially for slow- or mid-tempo songs, there is nothing better! To record vocals, I mostly use the Neve 1073, 1073 EQ, and the 2264A.”

“While I was working on the first Emigrate Album together with Richard Kruspe in 2005, we checked out a lot of stuff to find the right guitar-sound,” Olsen explains.

“We ended up using the Neve 1081 and the 33609. That brought us the fat & punchy sound that we were aiming for, somehow it just sounded right…and when you are happy with what you hear, you can start making music!”

Olsen is currently working on the third Emigrate Album, and has just finished a mixing-session for German artist, Maxim.
