Hands-On Control

There’s no substitute for real hands-on fader control when it comes to real console feel. By adding the 8804 to the 8816 Summing Mixer, the two units form a fully-fledged Neve® console.

Long-Throw Faders

Eighteen total long-throw faders deliver ultimate precision for finely tuning an 8816 mix. Each fader runs from -inf to 0dB at the central position and up to +15dB at the top.

Independent Master Faders

The 8804’s features separate left and right main mix faders. This unique layout allows for fine stereo balancing at the crucial master stage.

Linked Switch Controls

The Neve® recall software forms a software bridge between the 8816 and 8804 units, linking solo and cut switches for seamless integration.

Direct Outputs

Adding an 8804 to your 8816 gives you access to a host of new features and capabilities! The 8804 has 16 direct outputs via D-Type connection; these outputs add even more flexibility when recording through the 8816, allowing individual ‘stems’ to be tracked pre or post-fade from all 16 inputs.

8816 Aux Send

Adding an 8804 to your 8816 opens up the possibility of using the 8816’s level pots as aux sends – ideal for an additional cue mix or as reverb sends into your favourite outboard FX units.

Rackmount or Tabletop

Depending on your studio setup, the 8804 can be mounted multiple ways – rack-mounted into a 4U 19″ frame or mounted onto your studio desk using the built-in stand or optional tabletop side cheeks.

Total Recall Software

Every fader position and switch setting on the 8804 can be recalled quickly via the Neve® recall software. The interactive recall application tracks and follows manual fader positions allowing you to recall your mix sessions in seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum cable length between the 8804 and 8816?

The supplied connecting cable between the 8816 and the 8804 fader pack is 3 metres long, the maximum we recommend. We have tested the units with a cable length of 5 metres with no adverse effects. As the signals between the two units are unbalanced, they are more susceptible to external interference, great care must be taken so that other cables do not interfere with the audio signals.

How do I use the 8804 direct outputs?

The 8804 has 16 direct outputs via two D-type connections on the rear of the fader pack. These outputs can be connected to your audio interface, providing 16 individual channel outputs for tracking through the 8816. Each direct output can be cut or set pre or post-fader via the Neve Recall software.

How do I use the 8816 Aux send feature?

When the 8816 and 8804 are connected, the aux jumper switch inside the 8816 must be switched over to 8804 operation (full instructions in the 8816 User Manual). The 8804’s now function as level controls for the 16 channels, and the 8816 level controls function as pre-fade aux sends from each channel.

How does the 8816 and 8804 communicate?

The 8816 and 8804 soft switches are linked via the Neve Recall Software. Both units must be connected to a computer with the app running for seamless communication, linking cut and solo switches. Each unit must have the same M/S settings on the rear of the 8816 and underneath the 8804, if the 8804 is set to S and the 8816 is set to M, the comms link will be broken..
