LipSync Post Upgrades to DFC3D

Internationally renowned post-production house, LipSync Post have welcomed an extensive upgrade to their Soho based facility. LipSync teamed up with HHB Communications to create a hybrid, dual AMS Neve DFC3D and Avid S6 desk whilst upgrading the room to create Dolby Atmos mixes with a new HE-RMU.

“We wanted to add Dolby Atmos to our mixing theatres and decided on a ‘hybrid’ surface,” states LipSync’s Senior Re-recording Mixer, Rob Hughes. “The heart of our new console in Theatre 2 is the DFC3D, being fed by two Avid S6 control surfaces. Frozen Fish came on board to integrate the S6s into our DFC framework.”

This Dual Operator configuration frees the mix engineers to work on separate Pro Tools systems simultaneously for fast and efficient turnaround time in order to meet crucial project deadlines.

Hughes continued, “The implementation of Atmos within the DFC3D is both extensive and extremely intuitive in operation. The object/bed routing options are incredibly flexible. And of course, those EQs are impossible to beat! We’re absolutely delighted with our re-fitted room and will be starting on Theatre 1 just as soon as our schedule will allow.”
